Sustainability Project

The Canton Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Canton Township, has launched the Canton Sustainability Committee—a forward-thinking initiative aimed at advancing environmental sustainability across our community. As part of this effort, we’re inviting local businesses to participate in a new Sustainability Self-Assessment.

Why This Matters

Environmental sustainability is a growing priority for our township. One of our key community goals is to extend the life of our local landfill by increasing business participation in recycling and waste reduction. By working together, we can reduce waste and save money for both businesses and residents.

What’s Involved

We’ve developed industry-specific Self-Assessment Rubrics to help businesses evaluate their current practices, identify areas for improvement, and implement more sustainable operations. These tools are easy to use, and the feedback gathered will guide future support, resources, and programming.

Your participation will play a critical role in shaping the future of sustainability efforts in Canton. This beta group includes a diverse mix of 30 local businesses, representing a broad range of industries. Your input will help us refine these tools to better serve the wider business community.

Benefits of Participating

  • Discover ways to reduce waste and improve efficiency
  • Contribute to a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable Canton
  • Improve your brand’s reputation and strengthen customer loyalty
  • Support practical solutions that save money and resources
