AMBASSADOR COMMITTEE
The Ambassadors are a group of members who volunteer their time to serve as Chamber good-will representatives. They are the communication link between the Chamber, Board, Staff and its members. Ambassadors provide greater visibility for the Chamber, i.e., more people telling the Chamber Story! As informed Chamber representatives, the Ambassadors serve as the entity of the Chamber that focuses on the Chamber membership, they are the backbone of the organization. Ambassadors act as the public relations arm of the Chamber with its members. The Ambassador Committee is responsible for new member referrals, member retention program, attending grand openings, ribbon cuttings and other Chamber functions. ANNUAL DINNER AUCTION COMMITTEE
The Auction/Dinner is held the first quarter of each year. The Committee is responsible for planning and preparing for our Annual Chamber Auction. This committee shall take an active part in the action necessary to accomplish this purpose including soliciting sponsors, prize donors and attendees. This is our largest fundraiser. The revenue is used to implement programs that benefit Chamber members and promote the business community. COMMUNICATION COMMITTEE
The Communication Committee is respnsible for reviewing, changing and implementing Chamber communication to our members through newsletter, news releases, and any other means of communication. They are responsible for communicating to residents, non-chamber businesses and the Township, through news releases, Focus, emails etc.
EDUCATION COMMITTEE
The Education Committee is responsible for planning and implementing educational seminars and workshops that will benefit Chamber members and make recommendations to the Business Relations Committee for Speakers at our Chamber Luncheons. In addition, the committee is responsible for securing sponsors and a team for the Spelling Bee which is held in October and hosted by the Community Literacy Council.
GOLF COMMITTEE
The Golf Committee is responsible for planning and preparing the Annual Chamber Golf Classic. This committee shall take an active part in action necessary to accomplish this purpose including soliciting sponsors, golfers and prize donors. The money is used to implement programs that benefit Chamber members and promote the business community. GRUB CRAWL COMMITTEE
The Grub Crawl is a Community Event. It is hosted by the Canton Chamber of Commerce, the DDA and Canton Township. The event promotes and features local restaurants. The Grub Crawl is held the fourth Tuesday of July. The committee is responsible for planning and preparing the Annual Grub Crawl. This committee shall take an active part in soliciting restaurants, sponsors, and guests. The revenue is used to implement programs that benefit Chamber members and promote the business community.
MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE
The Membership Committee will develop and implement a plan to acquire and mentor Chamber Members, including but not limited to New Members, Current Members and Prospective Members. This committee will update/oversee Member Orientation, and Mentor Protégé Programs. SPEAKERS/NETWORKING COMMITTEE
The Speakers Committee meets on an as needed basis. This committee is responsible for securing speakers for the Chamber Luncheons. They should assist Chamber staff in securing sponsors for Luncheons, Networking Breakfast and Afterhours. They are responsible for making reminder call to new chamber members by phone, email inviting/reminding them to sign up/attend the events. RELAY FOR LIFE COMMITTEERelay for Life is a 24-hour annual community event hosted by the American Cancer Society. The fundraiser is held at Heritage Park. The Chamber hosts a team each year. The team is made up of Canton Chamber members who are asked to pledge money and/or participate by walking during the event. The committee meets beginning in February (Relay Kick-off) until the event date in May. “This is a great way for businesses to give back to the community” VOLUNTEER
Aside from the many volunteer opportunities that are available through serving on Chamber committees, the Chamber also needs volunteers to help on the days of the events themselves. If you are unable to serve on a committee at this time, please consider volunteering during the event! All help is appreciated, and no amount of time is too little. |
