A TOAST TO CANTON

The annual Wine Tasting event “A Toast to Canton” is held in the fall each year by the Leadership Canton Alumni Association. The event is sponsored by Holiday Market and hosted at Waltonwood at Cherry Hill.

Proceeds from the event are divided three ways… One third of the money raised provides scholarships for Leadership Canton Students. The balance of the money raised is given to selected local charities. Charities are chosen by members of the Steering Committee which is made up of Leadership Canton Alumni. Past recipients include: Canton Lions Club, Canton Rotary, First Step, Character Counts, and Exchange Club of Canton.

The Charter Township of Canton and the Canton Chamber of Commerce established Leadership Canton in 1994. The program was developed in an effort to ensure a continuing source of skilled and motivated leaders for the Canton Community.

The goal of Leadership Canton is to identify and expand the number of potential volunteers and leaders within the Canton Community. Leadership Canton also seeks to provide participants with a forum to discuss the types of community issues, identify and provide potential solutions for community concerns and provide diverse networking opportunities.
