A Challenge Cup focuses on the larger team accomplishment. Teams are formed and pairings are created where everyone is on a level playing field for a 9-hole match play. This allows all golfers, regardless of their skill level, to contribute points for their team in the hopes of winning the Canton Chamber Challenge Cup!

With a proven handicap system, a “level the playing field” exists of any match by starting a team “up” in the match instead of “all square” or by moving a team forward or back a tee from where their opponent plays from.

Each match is worth one point. Any match that finishes “All Square” (tied) is “halved” and each team receives a 1⁄2 point. Each half or full point moves the team closer to claiming the Challenge Cup.


Registration forms will be posted here in the Spring or are available at the Chamber Office.  Deadline is Friday, August 10, 2012. This is a rain or shine event.
